Sikkil Mala Chandrasekhar hails from a musical family
and has imbibed the flute artistry from the famous Sikkil Sisters.
She is the daughter of Sikkil
Necla. She also learned from the noted vocalist Smt. Radha Viswanathan,
which has influenced her repertoire and expertise. Mala has won
numerous awards some of which are, Flute Mali Award from Madras
Music Acadamy(98), Kalaimamani ftom the Tamil nadu Government
(95). best Flutist Award from YACM(90),Yuvakalabhrathi from Bharat
Kalachar(96), Palladam Sanjeeva Rao Award(96). Mala has performed
all ovrr India as a flute trio with the Sikkil Sisters and as
a flute artiste in the Veena - Venu - Violin ensemble. She is
an "A" grade artiste of All India Radio. Mala has been
invited to perform by The National Flute Association Inc at their
annual convention to be held in Atlanta, Georgia between Aug 19
and 22, 1999. H .N. Bhaskar hails from a musical family. His father H.
N. Narasimhamurthy is a famous Violinist in Karnataka. He started
learning the violin at the age of five. He took advanced training
from Violin Maestro Padmashree M.S.Gopalakrishnan. He is a Grade
B artiste of All India Radio. He has accompanied leading artists
such as T.R. Subramanyam, T.V. Sankaranarayanan, N. Ramani, Trichur
Ramachandran at the leading sabhas all over India. He has many
pre-recorded cassettes and CD's to his credit. Parthasarathy Suresh popularly known as Madipakkam Suresh is an experienced and sought after mrudangam Artist. He hails from a highlv musical family and learnt first under Kumbakonam Naravanaswamy Iver and later from Karaikudi Mani. He has accompanied all leading artistes and has won many awards. |
