We are a jazz group who is building a very unique sound that brings Indian classical music and free improvisational jazz together. We have been playing in and around Philly for over a year now. Currently we are looking for a Tabla player trained in Hindustani classical music to work with us from time to time. We want to explicitly introduce the intricacies of Indian rhythms to our compositions. We play highly improvisational music. If you are eager to experiment while keeping the unique quality of Indian music, you will be the best Musically, he/she will be well versed in improvisation, strong in complex rhythms and uninhibited to explore and experiment. The band doesn’t have an immediate commercial interest. So, if you are a musician who is looking for immediate financial returns, this might not be a good match for you The band meets for rehearsals every weekend at our studio in Upper Darby. We usually perform about 2 or 3 times a month. In our website, you can find a few of our songs for download. (http://www.bamboojazz.com) Please listen to the songs. Respond if you are ready to work with a band whose primary aim is to make music. Have a nice day. |
