Registration for Dr. T.S.Sathyavathi’s Virtual Workshop on Shyama Sastry Compositions – October 28-30, 2022

Sruti is happy to announce a 3-day workshop on Shyama Sastry compositions conducted by the renowned musician Dr. T.S.Sathyavathi. Please see below the details of the workshop, guidelines as well as the link to register and submit a sample recording. Kindly note the deadline for registration and sample recording submission is Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Guidelines

  1. The digital workshop (streamed on Shaale platform) will be held on Oct 28, Oct 29 and Oct 30 from  9 pm to 11 pm US time (6:30 am India time). The workshop is open to children and adults.
  2. Dr. T.S.Sathyavathi will teach four compositions of Shyama Sastry during the workshop.
  3. Participants are required to be Sruti members and  should have a strong understanding and grip on Raga and Laya ( in other words students at a senior level) which is essential to learn these compositions.
  4. Participants have to submit one recording of a song of their choice (no longer than 5 minutes) by September 15, 2022. The recordings will be evaluated by Dr. T.S.Sathyavathi and accepted participants will be notified by email.
  5. The cost is $50 per participant payable to Sruti.
  6. The number of participants will be capped at 15 and registrations will be honored on a first come-first served basis, once selected.
