Guidelines

The workshop is open to children, adults and teachers. Priority will be given to Sruti patrons,sponsors and members before opening up to non-members.
Notations and recordings will be made available.
The cost is $150 per participant payable to Sruti.
The number of participants will be capped at 25 and registrations will close when we reach this limit.

Annamayya workshop to be conducted by Sri. Malladi Suri Babu from April 26-28.

Malladi Suri Babu is a distinguished Carnatic vocalist from a respected musical family in Vijayawada, who inherited his art from his father, Harikatha exponent Malladi Sri Rama Murthy. A long-time All India Radio Vijayawada musician and announcer, he trained under stalwarts Voleti Venkateswarlu and Dr. Sripada Pinakapani and has performed widely across India and abroad. Renowned for classic, bhava-rich renditions of the Carnatic Trinity’s works, he is particularly acclaimed for his scholarly tuning and presentation of Kshetrayya padams and Tallapaka Annamacharya krithis, which he has recorded and taught extensively. He has been honoured with major titles including Kala Ratna (2013) from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the TTK Award of the Madras Music Academy (2014). The illustrious Malladi brothers are his sons.
