Rasika Sivakumar started learning Carnatic music at the tender age of 3 from her mother, Smt. Uma Sivakumar and later from Smt.Rajarajeshwari Bhat of Houston. She is now under the tutelage of revered Guru “Sangeetha Kalanidhi” Neyveli Sri Santhanagopalan, for the past five years. She has been regularly presenting concerts in India and USA and has been performing at the Chennai music season for the past four years. Rasika has participated and won several prizes in competitions at “The Hindu” Margazhi competition, Cleveland Aradhana, CMANA, and Papanasam Sivan festival. She also won the tambura prize at Guruguhamritha Deekshithar competition and child talent award at Sangeetha Saamrat, USA. In addition, Rasika is also learning Bharatanatyam, Indian classical violin and Western violin. Rasika is currently a ninth grader at Methacton High School in Collegeville, PA.
Bhargav Tumkur had his initial training in violin under Sri Subash Vinjamuri of Springfield, Virginia at the age of 6. He is currently guided by Kamalakiran Vinjamuri and Sri Delhi P. Sunder Rajan of Chennai. Bhargav learns Vocal from Smt Padmini Ravi of Chennai. He has been accompanying for concerts all over the US since 2016 including the last 4 Chennai music seasons before the pandemic. Bhargav is a Sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park studying Computer Science.
Srikar Chittari was initiated into Mridangam by Sri Srinath Balasubramaniam at the age of five. He then continued his training under Sri Vijay Ganesh, and since 2015, he has received advanced training from Sri Neyveli Narayanan of Chennai. He has performed around the U.S., at the Chennai music seasons, and at the Music Academy’s 2019 “Spirit of Youth” series. Srikar is currently a fourth-year student at the University of Virginia majoring in Computer Engineering.
