All Sruti members (Life Members and 2025 Sponsors and Annual members) are invited to attend an in-person Annual General Body Meeting and Elections, followed by Bala Bhavam – Carnatic Vocal concert by Rishi Swaminathan on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Bharatiya Temple,1612 County Line Rd, Montgomeryville, PA 18936. The concert will be free for everyone to attend.
Sruti members are requested to promptly arrive well before 9 AM as we cannot begin without a quorum. If you are unable to attend the meeting for any reason, please provide a Proxy to another Sruti member (who is not part of the current Sruti Board) and advise by email to srutiphila@gmail.com that you have provided the proxy.

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM: Bala Bhavam – Carnatic Vocal by Rishi Swaminathan, with Swetha Narasimhan (Violin) and Navneeth Gopinath (Mridangam)
Concert Details:
Rishi Swaminathan started his musical journey with Smt. Kiranavali Vidyasankar from January 2020 and in the span of 5 years has blossomed as a solid singer with a flair for classical values. Rishi has presented solo vocal performances at several esteemed venues, including HARI Temple–Harrisburg, Hindu Mahalakshmi Temple-Delaware, Sri Varada Venkateswara Temple–Barto, Hindu Temple Society-Allentown and the Sringeri Sri Saradambal Temple–Stroudsburg. He has also been featured as a solo vocalist for a classical dance and music production by the Rasika School of Dance, Hershey/Harrisburg. Over the past few years, he has bagged top prizes at competitions held by premier organizations in North America such as the Carnatic Music Association of North America (1st prizes), Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana (2nd prize), Gayatri Fine Arts (1st prize) and Lehigh Valley Aradhana (1st prize). He has recently started singing short solo concerts and is working his way to bigger performances and stages. Rishi is a 10th grader at Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg, and he is also learning western flute and piano.
Swetha Narasimhan is a senior student of Late Smt. Gowri Ramakrishnan, from whom she was privileged to learn for 16 years. Swetha started learning violin at the age of 6 from Dr. Narayan Raman, and was taught by several violinists, including Shri. Purnachander Rao and Smt. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, with whom she is currently continuing to learn. For the past 15 years, Swetha has enjoyed playing for Carnatic vocal, instrumental, Bharathanatyam, and Kuchipudi programs around the world, and has taken pride in encouraging upcoming young artists as well as working with several senior artists in the field. Swetha works to support adult education and the growth and development of educators in Philadelphia.
Navneeth Gopinath, a young rising musician, started his journey in Carnatic Music at the age of 3 learning vocal from his mother. He found his passion playing Mridangam and is currently pursuing his advanced training under esteemed Guru Kalaimamani Shri. Tiruvarur Vaidyanathan. He has performed in several concerts in the US, Canada and in Chennai accompanying Senior Vidwans and upcoming artists at venues such as the Cleveland Thayagaraja Festival, Mahaperiyava Mani Mandapam, Hindu temple DE, Barto temple PA, Guruvayurappan Temple NJ, Gayatri Fine Arts, TTVV Trust, and Brahma Gana Sabha, Hamsadhwani, Chennai. He has performed in productions like the “Sustaining Sampradaya”, “Thaka Dhimi Thakita” and “Bhakthi Vijayam” as well as multiple concerts and productions at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival. Navneeth also accompanied at IFAASD youth festival of San Diego, ICarnatic Detroit and SRGMPDN Maryland. With his gurus blessings, he has performed in many concerts and has also won several competitions at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, CMANA, and Global Arts Temple MYICMF. Navneeth is a Junior at Downingtown East High School, Philadelphia aspiring for a career in and Finance and Economics.
