Individual Participation Guidelines:

• Registrations for individual participation will open at 9am on Sunday, February 18th, 2024

• Individual and group participation is restricted to rendering Thyagaraja Krithis only. 

A strict time limit of 5 minutes will be imposed. 

Each participant will be given only one slot – they can perform either as an individual or as part of a group. 

Participants that are both vocalist & instrumentalist can register for only one category. Accompanists will be allowed to accompany if they have their instruments tuned and ready beforehand. No time will be given to tune instruments on stage. 

• Please do not perform any Alapana, Niraval or Kalpana Swarams. This restriction does not apply to Chittai Swarams in the composition. 

• Song provided during the registration CANNOT be changed for any reason.

• While registering please make sure the participants’ name(s) and email are spelled correctly, as they will be used in the certificates as entered.

• Priority of participant selection will be based on your 2024 sponsorship / membership status according to the following Priority levels until we reach a total of 50 slots. 

Priority 1: 2024 Sruti Adult Sponsors or family sponsors and groups with all participants being 2024 sponsors.
Priority 2:  Groups with at least one Sruti 2024 sponsor and the rest being life members.
Priority 3:  Individual life member or groups with all life members.
Priority 4: Groups with at least one life member with others being annual members.

• The order of the participant performances will largely follow the same priority levels as above.

• Please note that for priority purposes, the participant needs to sign up for 2024 Sruti sponsorship or Life Membership before February 18th, 2024, the registration date. The sponsorship sign-up is available in the Membership page. 

• A confirmation email will be sent, indicating the scheduled session of the participants in advance of the event.

• No phone call registrations will be accepted.

• Participants must be available to perform in the allotted slot. Participants must be present when their turn is announced, or they will be moved to the end of the session.

• We strongly encourage participants to attend the whole day including performance by the other participants and the main concert by JA Jayant, Flute, accompanied by L Ramakrishnan on Violin and NC Bharadwaj on Mridangam.

J.A.Jayant (Flute)

Young Carnatic Flute exponent J.A.Jayant, is an artiste, collaborator, teacher and composer performing across the globe and popularizing the art of flute playing. A prodigy – having started performing at the age of 7, Flute J.A.Jayant is a young musician of national and international repute with over 1800 solo concerts and jugalbandhi performances to his credit.

A global ambassador of Indian Music, Jayant has performed and enthralled audiences at various prestigious organizations and festivals in India and around the world including Theatre de la ville- Paris, Fes Festival – Morocco, Les Orientales d’anjou festival, Sodra Teatern – Sweden, The Darbar festival – UK, Milapfest – UK, Sydney Music Festival, World Sacred Spirit Festival, DUCTAC Auditorium- Dubai, Kennedy Center -Washington DC, SIRI FORT- New Delhi, Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, Reitberg Museum- Zurich, The Madras Music Academy, Shanmukhananda hall, Sangeet Natak Akademi, ICCR to name a few.

Flute J.A.Jayant is regarded as one of the most popular and widely respected Instrumentalists from India performing and collaborating with globally renowned musicians. He has the rare honour of performing for the Honourable President of India and for the Indian Navy in Port Blair. Flute J.A.Jayant has a presence on social media and his music can be found on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Apple music, Spotify, Amazon music etc.

L Ramakrishnan (Violin)

Born into a family of musicians, L Ramakrishnan is one of the leading accompanists on violin today. He is known for his ability to shadow the musical ideas of his co-artistes while also enriching concerts with his apt, measured and musically rich repartees. He performed for the first time at the age of 12 under the auspices of Shanmukhananda Fine Arts, Mumbai and has been a constant presence in the concert circuit for the past 25 years.

Ramakrishnan has been under the tutelage of ‘Padma Shri’ Awardee Sangeetha Kalanidhi Kum. A.Kanyakumari since the year 1996. He underwent 7 years of rigorous training from Smt. Visalam Vaageeshwar of Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mumbai and trained extensively under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri. T.K. Govinda Rao and Smt.T.R. Balamani (Mumbai) in the Musiri Bani. He was mentored by Dr. B. Balasubrahmaniyan in the inimitable Dhanammal Bani during his time in the USA.

Ramakrishnan was recently adjudged the Best Senior Accompanying Violinist by the Madras Music Academy for the year 2022 and is a proud recipient of the ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ awarded by the Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2019. He has collaborated with musicians of other genres and also recorded for films and ad-films. He has toured USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Middle East extensively on concert tours.

NC Bharadwaj (Mridangam)

NC Bharadwaj, a young star artist of today started learning mridangam at the tender age of six. He had his initial training under Srivancheyam Sri. K Gopalan. Later he had his training under Nanganallur Sri. R Sriram. Currently he is under the able guidance of the legendary mridangam Maestro Padma Vibhushan Dr. Umayalpuram K Sivaraman.

Bharadwaj is an A grade artist of All India Radio, Chennai. He is a recipient of various awards and titles. He has performed with numerous reputed artists all over India and abroad being part of prestigious national and international festivals.
